｛磚瓦下的愛｝
“世界上最美的風景，在回家的路上。”，一個人不管在外面的世界歷經了多少滄桑或闖蕩了多少地方，終究希望的仍是能夠走在回家的路上。家是用愛築起的避風港，是一個不管你離開家有多遠或多久，而你知道永遠會有那麼一盞燈在深夜裡亮著、一扇門會敞開著，等待你歸家身影的地方。生活在這世界上大多數的人們都有家，然而卻不是每一個人都能夠有機會擁有一個完整安定的家園。近年來，在世界各個角落裡都發生了在一片土地上生活了大半輩子的居民，在文明發展這巨獸底下被迫選擇了搬遷，眼睜睜地看著一座座家園被搗毀而最終夷為平地，居民的生活記憶將永遠缺角，一代人的回憶從此也只能從零散的片段裡找尋拼湊。我們希望能從這一系列片單裡，引領同學重新去思索作為人所擁有的居住權利以及重新去探究關注生長在這片土地上的人與事。
The
most beautiful sceneries are visible on the journey homeward bound”.
Almost everyone has a home of some sort. Yet, not everyone has a
home that is safe and trouble free. Over the past decades, we see houses
are being taken down and people being forced out of their homes due to
metropolitan expansion, as well as urbanization of major cities. People’s
remembrance of their “home” now only exist in their memories. We
hope to create discussion on the balance between the rights of homeownership
for small villages and the government/corporation who are taking over the land.
Through these discussions, we hope to inspire our students to care about
everyone who live on the land we grew up on.
｛變奏生命樂章｝
走在這人生的旅途上，總會有我們無法預期的事情會在我們的眼前發生，不管我們是否願意接受，也不得不去面對承擔。尤其當我們自己亦或是身邊的至愛至親正在面臨生命中的轉折點或重大事件的時候，我們往往才會在恍然大悟之後，才會重新去探索生命的意義。跌宕起伏的人生是在提醒我們生命的可貴，就像是一曲樂章，有著高潮與變奏，才能成就一首悅耳悠揚。我們希望能夠藉此片單讓同學體悟生命的美麗，在影片結束後，大家不妨輕輕用手掌捂著胸口。感受到了那生命的搏動嗎? Life is a gift.
As we journey through life, we are often challenged by many unforeseen events. We often overlook and take for granted the most important people and things surround us. Most of us learn to look deeper into the meaning of life after we have gone through these traumatic events. These challenges often bring us back to the basics – who and what, are the most important in our lives. These crests and troughs create the melodies and variations of our “Life Symphony”. We hope to show the beauty of life through this series of films. We ask our students to close their eyes for a minute after the film, and really think what we can do to appreciate our daily lives. We want everyone to know one thing: Life is a gift.

Our bucket list should be composed now and be acted upon whenever we get a chance. Don’t let our dream to sit aside and be covered with dust. Our goal in this topic is to revitalize the deep desire to dream big again, and chase after your dream no matter how insane or unobtainable it might be. Our life is an one-way-train-ride, with time only allows us to go forward. However, it is important we fill our life with the content that WE choose to input and enter. Remember: You Only Live Once!

Our
life is leaping forward as we inhale and exhale subconsciously. It is hard to fathom and grasp the real
concept of time in relationship and in perspective of our life span. We can only learn how to truly live for this
very moment. Instead of pondering on
things or people we have loss; it is more important we remember to appreciate
everyone and everything we possess in our lives. Let’s celebrate our lives and everything in
our lives by putting on a great party – this party may be in the form on a long
awaited journey, an overdue apologize, or even tell someone how much he/she means
to you. Remember to not have any
regrets. Live for the moment.

｛島影之後｝ Island Shadow, too
去年電影節以〈島影〉為主題，播映不同年代的台灣電影，呈現這塊土地上發生的種種故事。在回味過往單純的寫實映像，這些溫柔堅定、奮力生存的身影，使我們對於如何活著一事有更多的感觸。光影之間，帶領觀眾思考，生在台灣的我們，怎麼去關心生活中的大小事，以及這座島上發生的一切。
延續先前對於社會的關懷，本次YOLO影展推出〈島影之後〉單元，與校內關心公共議題的社團聯合舉辦，深入不同面向的社會議題，呈現人們如何面對生活的艱辛而不屈服，如何以身體實踐理想，活出璀璨亮麗的姿態。觀影之外，本單元將透過講師討論，看見比影片更戲劇性的社會現實，對各個議題投注更多的關懷。
This section of the film
echoes our last year’s theme, “Island Shadow”. We decided to focus on
various documentary films of the Taiwan film history – to either bring memories
of the past, of focus on issues that can still affects our students daily
lives. These documentaries teach us to care for our homeland and the
people we all share this land with. The documentaries section of our film
festival is co-sponsored by various school clubs who focuses on various social
issues in Taiwan. There will be post-viewing discussion led by NTU
faculties to guide students deeper into these current and past social issues or
stories.
